VENT-FREE gas appliances are designed and certified to ANSI Z21.11.2 standards. This limits the maximum gas usage to 40,000 BTU/hour; has the lowest permitted levels of combustion products of any gas appliance; and requires that an Oxygen Detection Safety-Pilot (ODS) be an integral component of each vent-free-heater. These requirements, along with state-of-the-art burners, hi-tech design and adequate combustion and ventilation air, allowing you to use Vent-Free gas logs in a masonry wood-burning fireplace with the damper closed or in an approved vent-free firebox enclosure.
